  • Design for an aging population.
  • Universal Design, Accessible Design, Adaptable Design, and Transgenerational Design: This area consist of Following up the developments in universal design or "design for all", including design for an ageing population, focusing on the applications of "inclusive design" in mainstream design products for larger markets.
  • Participatory design (collaborative design with real users). This research area looks at various ways of including real users into the design process in an attempt to co-design with them and get feedback early in the design process.
  • “Good design” around the world, common criteria to evaluate “good design”.
  • Lighting, day lighting, artificial lighting and colour in design.
  • Recent lamp design:
  • Glass and ceramic products, production and forming techniques.
