2006 - International Innovation Commendation Award from the Chartered Institute of Building for his work in developing and implementing an innovative risk and opportunity management system for Multiplex Facilities Management.
Literati Award
2004 - Literati award for excellence for an article entitled flexible problem solving in construction projects on the national museum of Australia project, published in the International Journal of Team Performance Management.
UK Literati Club Highest Commendation Award
2002 - UK Literati Club Highest Commendation Award for a paper entitled “Customer focussed benchmarking in facilities management”.
Outstanding Journal Paper Award
American Society of Civil Engineers’ Engineering Management - Outstanding Journal Paper 2000 - Award for peer-reviewed paper entitled "The psychology of accident prevention in the construction industry”.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building. Martin holds visiting professorial positions in the University of Loughborough, UK and University of Hawaii, US and was engaged by the Australian Royal Commission into the Building Industry, advising on international workplace reform and productivity. He advises a wide range of major private and public sector organisations and NGOs in Australia, Middle East and Asia and has published over 100 articles and four international books in risk management, crisis management, facilities management, occupational health and safety and human resource management.
