Dr Florence Phua is an international construction management specialist, integrating research and teaching with consultancy in project organisational performance, procurement systems and contract strategy. Prior to joining UNSW, she worked as a consultant for a leading quantity surveying firm in Malaysia before she went on to complete her Masters degree in construction project management in 1998. She has accumulated wide-ranging research and teaching experience working as a research fellow at the University of Hong Kong after obtaining her PhD in 2002.
Dr Phua endeavours to deliver her lectures in an interactive, engaging manner, encouraging as much as possible the discussion and critical analysis of issues and problems which are firmly grounded in academic research and business practice.
Her current research interest includes investigating aspects of organizational behaviour and the micro interdependent factors affecting the dynamics of macro construction project and industry outcomes.
