OUTREACH AT FBE
FBEOutThere! consolidates the community engagement and outreach activities of the Faculty of the Built Environment. Under a single reference group each program operates independently, but in a collaborative context that seeks to build synergies around community oriented research, learning and engagement.
The programs of FBEOutThere! aim to build capacity for sustainable development through strengthened relationships between the University and the wider community.
The current suite of programs includes:
- Architects without Frontiers which undertakes projects in communities that are socially disadvantaged or have been devastated by war, social conflict or natural disasters in Australia and abroad.
- The Sustainable Living Project which incorporates school-based engagement through the Sustainable Living Challenge and Knowledge Networks.
- Waterloo Redfern Community Development Program which operates in association with the UNSW School of Social Work.
- Indigenous Community Projects which includes the FBE involvement in Nura Gili.
