Do you specialise in a particular type of architecture?

At the moment it is residential projects because we like the personal interaction with our clients. You are dealing with people who are passionate about the work. It is rewarding when the project exceeds the clients expectations and ends up having a positive influence on the way they live their lives.

What are some of your most interesting projects?

We have concentrated on producing conceptually based, highly detailed, quality projects so all of the work we are attracting now is interesting and challenging. Our last completed project was the Szirtes House which has been widely published in Australia and overseas.

Which part of your studies had the biggest impact on your professional life?

The broad subject range within the degree prepared us for the diversity of influences on architectural practice. Tony received three major design awards during his studies which established his reputation as a designer and have focused the direction of our practice.

Having been in the industry for more than 15 years, do you still “love” it?

We do still love architecture. Probably more so. Your skills as an architect improve with age and experience and you are able to add a greater richness to your projects because of it.

What qualities do you think make for a great Architect?

Persistence, patience, an ability to think rigorously through ideas, an ability to analyse and synthesize information.

Thinking back, what inspired you to study Architecture all those years ago?

Stephanie - believed it would combine her interests in art and mathematics. Tony – liked that architecture involved abstract thought.
