My Research

The research examined the capacity for three-dimensional geospatial technologies to bring together many different types of data, information and knowledge to assist people living in high-rise and sometimes isolated communities. My research shows that a geospatial approach to housing management not only offers valuable pragmatic benefits, but can also map the participants perceptions against information available in the databases. Although my background is in architecture, my interests expand beyond the framework of “the building” to the urban landscape and people’s interaction with the urban environment.

Today

As a Research Associate at the CityFuture Research Centre, I can put my research into practice by developing applications of architectural and urban visualisation technologies to help in the redevelopment of existing estates that are currently undergoing community regeneration programs. Jack is part of a team that won a major Australian Research Council linkage grant to develop information modelling technologies and demonstrate how these can be applied at an urban scale.
