I graduated in 1986 from Manchester University with a BA Honours in Town & Country Planning and in 1987 with a Bachelor of Planning. I subsequently pursued a career in the financial sector for many years. However, my interest in the built environment continued to grow and I decided that it was time for both a career change and a change of scene from the UK .
In 2005, after much research, I chose the Masters of Real Estate at UNSW ( now the Masters of Property & Development). This offered a broad base of core subjects and relevant electives to give me a solid base to build my new career. As a mature student the course was both challenging and exciting but most importantly it opened various career paths within the industry to me.
Where am I working now?
After a year of full time study I secured a part time position with Lend Lease. After a few months Lend Lease offered me a full time position in their new business team helping to secure new projects for the company and agreed to sponsor me to stay in Australia. I then switched to part time study and completed my Masters with a High distinction in November 2006. I subsequently secured promotion to my current role as a Development Manager for evolve* at Jacksons Landing , one of the most prestigious buildings currently being constructed on Sydney Harbour.
