Why I chose to do Project Construction management?

After completing my graduation in architecture and having work experience with various esteemed firms locally and nationally saw me reach my limit and I decided I should move on further where I could achieve some knowledge on International level.  Architecture is a creative subject, with the help of which a designer can convert his imaginative thoughts into drawings with various aspects and is the base of all the subjects in construction.

The aspects could be physical where sunlight, ventilation, materials etc. are taken into consideration while creating a 2D and 3D drawing. As per my experience I saw there were difficulties which arouse for these drawings being executed into live structures the reason being the planner having inadequate knowledge of construction techniques and management skills to run project in more efficient manner.

By doing this course at UNSW of Construction Project Management helped me improvise my knowledge of both the latest construction techniques and management skills to work on construction projects irrespective of its size. It also gave me exposure to work on an international level where I interacted with people from not only Australia but different parts of the world.

Where am I working now?

During my graduation in architecture and after graduation I worked with few firms in India. After 2 years of experience in May 2006 I began the course of MCPM at UNSW to make an advance transition from architecture to construction management. I will be working as a chief architect/project manager in a structural firm in Muscat, Oman.
