Teen Space

The Teen Space 06 project encouraged students to develop their own design process and time management skills by creating furniture for teenagers. An awareness of youth culture and the influences of music and fashion were analysed by creating a ‘mood board’ which illustrated the activities, issues and brands of youth today. A concept presentation gave students the opportunity to present six original concepts from which one was chosen to model. Using scale sketching or soft modelling techniques, students produced a concept model from cardboard or blue foam. To complete the project, students produced detailed drawings and a scaled model of the object using the chosen materials.
