The Museum of Tactile Art, located at Cook and Philip Park, creates a connection from the park to the Domain through its relation to the once existent Haig Avenue. The architecture explores the role tactility plays in creating spaces that enhance the artworks on display. Thus the interior design emphasises light, materiality and sound. The definition of tactility in this project goes beyond touch to encompass sound, sight and feelings. The spaces engage actively with the senses of sight, sound and touch to provoke feelings of anxiety or exposure. The 'tactile art' on display also actively engages the senses.

The project has two major components. The first is the exhibition spaces, which create the best possible conditions for displaying the artworks. Primary concerns here are usability and flexibility of space, as well as issues of light. The second component is a series of 'sensoriums', which precede each exhibition space. These spaces enhance and engage particular senses in preparation for the artworks, allowing visitors to experience the artworks from a new perspective.
