BLArch 30 Celebrations
BLArch 30 Celebration - 27 November 2004, The Scientia, UNSW
| << previous |
In 1974, the University of New South Wales was the first Australian university to offer a degree course in landscape architecture. This thirty-year milestone was celebrated at the Scientia building, in the University of New south Wales on the 27th of November 2004.
Since Professor Peter Spooner first offered evening courses in landscape design in 1963, the context in which landscape architects teach and practice has changed, in some ways dramatically. While the degree course at UNSW has responded to these changes, it has also maintained a commitment to cultivating the knowledge and skills necessary for the design of a meaningful built environment. The diversity of our graduates' careers, the calibre of their work, and their many awards attest to the strength of this education.
