electives
choosing electives
Elective choices should be planned to develop an area of specialisation aligned with your interests and intended career directions.
You may select suitable elective courses from any UNSW Faculty, subject to availability, pre-requisites and timetable. Here are some guidelines:
Students SHOULD:
- select elective courses that connect with and compliment the core industrial design studies (unlike General Education courses that should broaden your educational experience into areas not directly connected)
- consider a sequence of courses where one course may be pre-requisite to another
Students should NOT select courses that:
- duplicate courses in the core program
- are introductory or too basic in an area where the student has had prior learning
In some cases the Industrial Design Program Head may determine that a course is not acceptable as an elective. Please check with Program Head if you are unsure of the suitability of a course. It is your responsibility to collect the information needed in order to make a selection.
