UNSW policy now requires that no work is submitted for assessment without a signed Plagiarism Declaration. There are two types of Declaration Form that can be downloaded from this page, both available in either PDF (for printing and completing by hand) or RTF format (for editing in a word processor):

Where possible, all Plagiarism Declarations should be submitted in printed form, duly signed with your normal signature and dated. Where the work is being submitted electronically, then the declaration is considered to have been signed if one of the following cases applies.

  • Submitted using WebCT. In this case, logging on using your secure username and password is considered evidence that you authorised the declaration.
  • Submitted into an FBE Submit Folder. In this case, the declaration file (individual or group) must be filled in with all pertinent details except for the actual signature(s). The file must then be included within a single Zip archive file along with all the other files and folders that constitute the work covered by the declaration. Instructions on how to construct. Note that a separate Plagiarism Declaration file copied to the Submit Folder cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Either the whole electronic submission is re-submitted (including the declaration) or a printed and duly signed form may be lodged through the Faculty Student Centre, clearly identifying the Assessment Task to which it applies.
  • Email Submissions. Any work submitted via e-mail must also include a Plagiarism Declaration (appropriately completed) as a file attachment within the same e-mail message. In this case, the act of including the completed electronic form as an attachment along with the submission to which it refers is considered evidence that you authorised the declaration.

Special Note on Group Plagiarism Declarations

In rare circumstances, an individual may wish to submit a dissenting Group Plagiarism Declaration. These cannot be submitted electronically: they must always be submitted in printed form and properly signed and dated.
