Description:

The main context for the study is the Australian Government's new system to identify and protect places that have outstanding heritage significance. The study would also be one in a series of Commonwealth-commissioned research studies on a range of historically based themes.

The aim is to produce an authoritative but accessible research study to provide the context for the selection and assessment of places of outstanding heritage value to the nation relating to the theme of ‘Urban and Town Planning'.
