Description:

This report has been commissioned by the City of Fairfield to assist in developing future planning strategies for managing urban growth. In particular, the Council wishes to better understand the nature of the emerging demand for higher density housing. The report therefore examines the socio-economic characteristics of individuals and households who live in higher density housing in the Fairfield local government area.

In summary, the research is provided analysis of higher density housing in Fairfield in terms of trends, changes in profile of households, migration characteristics for households who moved into higher density housing and a comparison of the findings of Fairfield area against other high-density sectors in Western Sydney.
