Jane Carthey attended the Union of International Architects Public Health Group Seminar in Beijing in early July where she presented a paper (click here to access) on the NSW Health project regarding the need for adapting health facilities to climate change related extreme weather events. You can also click here to view the UIA-PHG newsletter.

Site visits included a visit to the Beijing Olympics site to review progress. A visit was also made to two urban hospitals and to a cardio vascular hospital in the Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA) about 3 hours from Beijing.

In March and July this year, CHAA has held two very successful seminars (Health Facilities: Sustainability and Health Facilities Briefing and Design: Australasian Health Facility Guidelines), both on behalf of NSW Health - you can see presentations relevant to these seminars by exploring the events links in the menu to your left.

In April, CHAA collaborated with the ACHSE in the presentation of a successul event Asset Stretegic Planning: Planning for success held on April 3rd. We hope to hold similar events in the future.

The CHAA conference held 19-20 February was a widely attended and successful event - we will be holding our next conference in late 2008: let us know if you would be interested in presenting or have ideas for topics you'd like to see covered.
