As part of the Housing Researchers’ conference, three awards will be presented for contributions to housing research in Australia and New Zealand.
The awards are:
Like AHURI, the Australian Government is committed to developing evidence based policy for housing and homelessness. A natural link to this position is the encouragement of young researchers to undertake housing related research and, hopefully, continue to work in the housing sector
The Award will be presented at the annual dinner of Australasian Housing Researchers Conference to recognise excellence in housing and urban research by those beginning their careers. Candidates will include those who have nominated as an early career researcher when submitting their conference abstracts.
Nominations:
We are seeking relevant nominations for the first two of these awards by COB 24 July 2009. The criteria for these two awards are posted on the conference website and nominations are to be sent by email to: m.schwensen@unsw.edu.au
A panel made up of the Australasian Housing Research Conference organization group and other peer housing researchers will then decide on the winning nominees. The names for the first two awards will be announced and the awards presented at the conference dinner. A separate process is in place for the Innovation in Housing Research Award during the conference which will also be announced and presented at the dinner.

Conference Organisers have now developed guidelines for all Conference Presentations. We request Power Point presentations and if possible, please forward them to the conference organisers by 31 July (m.schwensen@unsw.edu.au). Alternatively, and as back up, presenters need to ensure they have a copy of their presentation on memory stick/CR-Rom to give to the organizers at the commencement of the conference.
